What are my hip flexors and why are they important?
Some of you may be asking what are my hip flexors and why are they important? Well you’ll probably be amazed to find out that this muscle, also known as the psoas is one of the longest muscles in the body. It’s also the only muscle in the body that connects the lower and upper part of your body and is the centre of your body’s movements. This important muscle controls your balance, ability to sit, stand, twist, bend, reach, walk, step and run.
When your hip flexors are working well it has the ability to:
- Help you achieve peak performance day after day after day.
- Rapidly drop body fat that clings to your body.
- Hit your peak of sexual health.
- Train harder and gain strength faster than you thought possible.
How can I fix this problem?

Rick has created a series of 10 stretches called ‘Sequential Flow Method’ which when working through the right sequence of techniques unlocks the tension and tightness in your muscles.
Before this I never knew about my hip flexors or that it was causing me problems, but I’ve since started reading up on this problem and have bought the Unlock Your Hip Flexors eBook and DVD set and I am starting my own journey to loosen my hip flexors.

I’ve found all of this information really helpful as it explains to me why my hip flexors working well are so important to my body functioning properly. They then explain how to do the stretches detailed in the book and displayed in the video work to properly loosen my hip flexors, giving me greater mobility and less back pain.
However this needs to be done carefully as it is explained in the book and video that performing these stretches wrong can make it worse. This is probably why so many people give up on trying to fix the problem themselves and assume that they have to live with the problem, or spend lots of money on numerous trips to the physio. Unfortunately, ignoring the problem and hoping it will go away is just as damaging as messing up the stretches, which can be easily fixed by a trip to the physio.
The two videos that are also provided with the eBook are both easy to understand and follow along with.
DVD 1 – The first DVD is a full run through of the 10 stretches shown by a model with Rick also on screen explaining each stretch in detail, how it works, why you’re doing it etc. I found this video especially informative to watch first before I began my stretches as I was given step-by-step instructions on how to perform the stretches properly, how you know if you’re doing them wrong and you can see at the same time what it should look like.
DVD 2 – The second DVD is a shorter run through of all of the stretches with just the model on screen calling out the name of the stretch before performing it. This video is especially good for when you understand how to do the stretches and to watch and follow along with the video yourself.
I’ve only recently discovered my hip flexors myself and what affect they have on the body when they’re not working properly or are strained. But since I’ve started using these stretches I have felt a marked difference in how I feel and I struggle with less back pain from sitting in an office chair all day than before, pain which I had just assumed I would have to live with and was normal.
